With the aim to rediscover the Aperitivo category true pure innovation learning from the past but crafted in a modern way, Giuseppe Gallo researched how to resurrect an original recipe from the 1850s', the well known 'Aperitivo di Corte' (the drink of kings), to the contemporary drinks industry. Italicus – Rosolio di Bergamotto is experiencing great success thanks to the quality of the ingredients, robust distribution partners, strong vision and leadership. Despite the challenges faced during 2020 at a global level, the brand Italicus did not relent its projects at any time: on the 2nd June 2020 The Art of Italicus - Creative Talents was launched as a Digital Art Competition to unite and support emerging artists from around the world, in celebration of the 4th anniversary of the Italian aperitivo brand. Among the several talented artists who participated, the winners and their astonishing artworks were announced on September 1st, 2020.
To close the year on a promising wave, on the 15th October 2020 Italicus launched a new project addressing the Bartenders: the "Art of Italicus: Aperitivo Challenge - Glocal Edition" took place as a city tour in 80 bars across 10 different cities worldwide. Supporting local ITALICUS communities by promoting their artistry and innovation on global digital platforms, the brand particularly shows its vicinity to the members of the on-trade, and is prepared for the future steps.
The brand was awarded by the World Best Bar as #2 top trending brand of the year and #7 best selling brand as voted by the best bars and bartenders across the world.
